SHOPPING IN MALAGA

Malaga is a shopper’s paradise. If you love shopping, you will love Malaga. Tourists love shopping in Malaga from as early as 11 am in the morning, well into the late hours of the evening. 

The Malaga fashion stores are a favourite with many aspiring fashionistas and are generally packed with people all day long. The popular shopping centres of Malaga such as Calle Larios and Calle Granada stock a variety of products, including the very best furniture, antiques and leather goods.

You will also like the Plaza de la Constitucion, which is another popular place to shop in Malaga. The Historical Quarter is a part of the Malaga Old Town, and has a number of shopping centres and department stores. You could also visit the museums after a few hours spent shopping or visit the nearby beaches to relax. 

In Spain, most of the small shops are closed from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm for the siesta. Of course, the large shops, department stores and shopping centres stay open during this time. 

Calle Nueva is a busy street adjacent to the Calle Larios. The two streets are busy, bustling shopping areas and are generally filled with tourists, couples and young people, generally having a good time.  

The El Corte Ingles department store is at the corner of the Armengual de la Mota. Not far from here is the El Corte Ingles Hogar, which is the place to go to if you are looking to buy furniture and home furnishings. 

Armengual de la Mota is a busy shopping area which has a shopping centre called the Malaga Plaza Centro Commercial. You will find an Fnac store where you can look for DVDs, books, music CDs, and other electronic equipment.

The Larios Centro is a major shopping mall at the Avenida de la Aurora. You will find a supermarket here, a cinema theatre and a number of small restaurants.

The Rosaleda Mall is located in the centre of Malaga, at the Avenida Simon Bolivar. This is a large mall which has a multiplex where you can catch up on the latest Hollywood blockbusters.   

You will like the shopping mall at Vialia, at the Renfe train station. You will find a movie theatre here, a few restaurants and dozens of stores.  

The Muelle Uno, which is located at the Malaga Port, is the most popular shopping centre in Malaga, although it was opened only a few years ago. There are many high-end stores and restaurants here. You will find the finest Malaga fashion stores at the Muelle Uno.
